You probably think of Zurich as a conservative and boring banking city but you will be surprised to learn that its Street Parade overtook London's Notting Hill Carnival, and now hosts Europe's largest annual street party. And the Niederdorf districts, with lively bars and restaurants is all but conservative. The old city has quite a few notable churches such as the Fraumunster Church with the Marc Chagall choir windows, famous gothic cathedral Grossmünster, built by Charlemagne and St Peter’s Church, with the largest church clock face in the world.
