Brussels

The capital of Belgium and also the capital of the European Union. If you have linked Bruxelles only with politics and business it is high time you got to know its other, authentic side. Friendly people, excellent cuisine, noisy streets, peaceful parks and vividly painted tram and metro stations. You will fall in love with the Old and Upper city (Royal Palace and Palace of the Nation), its squares (Grand-Place), fountains (Mannequin Pis – the city’s masquotte), picturesque pedestrian labyrinth of streets of Sacred Isle with many shops, restaurants, aristocratic area Sablon, full of cafes and shops with antiquities and gothic church Notre-Dame au Sablon. Visit the worldwide known Atomium, take a walk to the massive Palaise de la Justice, to Waterloo Battle site or to Mini-Europe. You may not know that Bruxelles is the place where the comics were born. The "Belgian school" of strip cartoons is well-known around the globe and some of the best creations can be seen at the Comic Strip Centre. And of course, you must see old masters of Flammanic School: Rubens, Bouts and Memling in the Museum of ancient arts. After all, do not forget to taste Belgian beer and chocolates...

Many luxurious shops, specialized boutiques, and shops with antiques, two shopping centers: Inno Bruxelles and Marks & Spencer. Typical Belgian product is very expensive, hand made lace. Our recommendation: avoid souvenir shops.
